The 1964 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 32nd edition of the French race and was held on June 20 and 21, 1964 on the Circuit de la Sarthe, reduced in 1956 to a length of 13.461 km after work to increase the safety of the pit area following the 1955 tragedy. It was also the ninth race in that year's World Prototype Sports Championship.
After trying the previous year unsuccessfully to acquire Ferrari, Ford decided to challenge the Commendatore on the race tracks in what is remembered by fans as the Ferrari-Ford War.
This model reproduces the Ferrari that raced with drivers Beurlys and Bianchi in the Belgian National Equipe team achieving first place in the 2501 class at 3000 cm3 and fifth place overall at the end of the race.
